THE BASH Story…
In 1985 Dick Smith and his mates ran a charity event - a “BASH” in the outback. They bribed, cheated and laughed their way around a set route. It was heaps of fun and raised a lot of money for children.
It is so popular now, NT and the states hold their own Bash each year.
The BASH is the holiday after a year of fundraising – here’s the catch … you pay for your holiday too. That’s right, the BASH is not a free ride ‘ but it’s a lot of fun! – a lot of effort, fun and money goes into preparing your car and theme.
The BASH is not a race or a rally. You need a vehicle that is 30 years old at the start of the BASH. It needs to be in standard condition although some safety modifications are permitted and encouraged. The driver and crew are NEVER standard and should take the one major rule (… DON’T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY) seriously - the “Spirit of the Bash” is what it’s all about and you will find lasting friendship with great mates.
